Occasionally, it is important for a team to suffer defeat, to learn from it, to grow and to move on. Basking in a previously unbeaten season, the team felt that a cold shower of humility was needed, to prevent heads swelling too large and the ethos of the side dimming.
And so we decided not to play for the first 37 minutes of the game.
This tactic worked perfectly and we were soon down, massively. As discussed in training, humility and humiliation now baked in, we chose to play a little, scoring the final try of the match. A wonderful set of lessons learnt by all. Bravo!
